All Student Theatre

Campus Life supports and assists numerous student group with the planning of their large scale and traditional programming on campus. This includes the events listed here and more.

At the end of every spring semester, students from all majors participate in All-Student Theatre to select, produce, and perform a play on Beaumont Pavilion, the outdoor theatre on Brookings Quadrangle

All Student Theatre is one of three WashU student theater organizations. They produce one major production every spring on Brookings Quad, as well as a Murder Mystery event in the fall and a Cabaret in the Spring.

Activities Fair

The Activities Fair takes place every Fall and Spring semesters on the 1st Friday after classes resume. Hosted by Student Union, the fair brings together over 500 student groups and departments that allow students to explore different ways they can get involved on campus.

Bear Claw events

Bear CLAW (Campus Life at WashU) events happen each night of Bear Beginnings from 9-11 p.m., providing a variety of events for first-year students to experience showcasing different elements of the Washington University community. Each night offers a home base at the Danforth University Center where you can pick up the evening’s schedule, find out about future signature events, or just hang out.

Black Anthology

Black Anthology is the oldest, annual cultural theatre production that performs a story within the global Black diaspora. It is entirely produced, written, and directed by WashU students!

Carnaval

Have an interest in Latin culture? Carnaval is the student-run cultural show for you. Put on by the Association of Latin American Students, this student-run production showcases Latinx culture and spreads awareness of Latinx/Latin American issues. In addition to a skit, there are a host of dance acts, including Bachata, Salsa, and Tango, as well as a Mariachi Cuicacalli performance.

Diwali

Diwali, a showcase celebrating the Hindu holiday of the same name, is a WashU institution, regularly selling out. Produced by Ashoka, the South Asian student association, Diwali includes energetic dancing (bhangra, chahaat, garba, raas), music, skits and fashion.

Put on by Ashoka, WashU’s South Asian student association, Diwali is an annual, student-run production put on to celebrate the South Asian holiday of the same name, as well as South Asian culture at large. The production includes singing and dance acts, a fashion show, and a skit, as well as a diya lighting piece – a traditional aspect of Diwali’s celebration. Fundraising from the show is donated to a philanthropic cause.

DUC N’ Donuts

The first Friday of every month during the academic year, stop by the north entrance (closest to Mudd Field) of the Danforth University Center from 9-11 a.m., or until donuts are gone, for free donuts and coffee and a chance to learn about the month’s events in the DUC.

Lunar New Year Festival

This is an annual, student-run production that features dynamic performances celebrating the traditional and modern aspects of Asian heritage. Dance, martial arts, songs, musical instruments, and many more performances – all done by WashU students!

Reading Week

Each semester, Campus Life hosts the annual Reading Week Program. These sessions provide students the opportunity to find spaces to study, participate in review sessions, and take a break with stress- reduced activities. The most recent program theme was: Read Well Be Well and was developed in partnership with Habif Health and Wellness, The Learning Center, and Dining Services. Signature programs included sunrise and candlelit yoga classes, the “Late Night Snack” series, and tutoring sessions.

Relay for Life

This 12-hour team walking event held each year on Francis Field benefits the American Cancer It raises money for cancer research and unites students in the mission to fight back against cancer.

WILD

WILD (Walk in Lay Down) is an annual spring concert that takes place in Mudd Field. The largest student run event at WashU, each WILD features a headlining musical artist, as well as free food and drinks. Past artists have included T-Pain, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jason Derulo, and the All-American Rejects. This event is free for all WashU students.
